Located 220 Km from Natal, the municipality of Assu is known for its rich culture and thanks to the intelligence and the existing poetic inspiration in the blood of the ‘ assuenses’, came to be known as the “Athens Norte-Rio-Grandense”. The city is also famous for exporting tropical delicacies that have won the world: melons, grapes, acerolas, mangos, and bananas, all of them leave here to go all over the world. Religious tourism is also a strong point in Assu, in the month of June, receiving thousands of faithful for the feasts dedicated to the Patron Saint João Batista.
