Lagoa Nova has as its cradle one of the most majestic sierras of RN, the Serra de Santana. This city ‘serrano’ with an altitude of 733 meters has the characteristics of a mild climate and a large rural population: Lagoa Nova is one of the major producers of caju (fruit of the cashew nut)and also produces other tropical fruits like graviola, passion fruit and pinha. Ecotourism and principally the tourism of a second residence is beginning to stand out. To have a house in the Serra, in the heart of the Northeast ‘sertão’, is one of the attractions for the tourist that visits the region and ends up falling in love wth the area. It’s worthwhile visiting the Centro Municipal de Artesanato (Central Municipal of Handicrafts).
